NAIROBI, Kenya — Rigathi Gachagua, leader of the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), has announced that the opposition is in the final stages of compiling evidence against President William Ruto for submission to the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Gachagua stated that the prospective case accuses President Ruto of authorizing excessive police force against anti-government protesters, alleged abductions, and killings of “Gen Z” individuals, including a purported order to “shoot protesters on the legs.”

Speaking in Seattle, Gachagua cautioned members of “Gen Z” against engaging in dialogue with the President. Instead, he urged them to continue their fight for the country’s liberation, accusing the current government of steering Kenya into economic turmoil.

“I want to confirm that we have put up a team that is documenting all inhuman actions to protesters. We have also put together a team collecting evidence to take William Ruto to The Hague because you need the future after his exit,” Gachagua said.

He further advised the youth, “He has said you will be shot in the leg. I’m asking Gen Z that your issues have been heard, you have said enough — the next battle with Kasongo is on the ballot.”

Echoing this sentiment, Martha Karua, leader of the PLP party, expressed confidence in the opposition’s ability to prevail in future elections.

“Even if Kasongo himself becomes the chair of IEBC, we will still defeat him. Even if he becomes the whole commission, we will still win — but we have to stick together,” she stated.
