NAIROBI, Kenya — A 26-year-old woman is currently in police custody following an attempt to smuggle cocaine out of the country via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) confirmed the arrest of Wendy Mbeke Muli on Friday, shortly after she had boarded an outbound flight.

Airport authorities became suspicious of Muli’s demeanor during a routine screening, prompting a more extensive search.
