DAR ES SALAAM, TANANIA — Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist Harmonize has publicly addressed serious allegations made by his former signee, Ibraah, who claimed Harmonize once led him into a private room under suspicious pretenses.

In a video shared on his Instagram on Thursday, May 15, 2025, Harmonize strongly denied these accusations, expressing his disbelief that Ibraah would make such claims and questioning the younger artist’s motives for potentially damaging his reputation.

“And lastly, if I am not mistaken, referring to his claim that I called him into a private room and told him to disrespect his own mother—it is heartbreaking, and it is not as though I do not understand how much such words can ruin my image,” Harmonize stated.

He conveyed that he was deeply hurt by the accusation, acknowledging that some individuals might believe Ibraah’s narrative. However, Harmonize characterized himself as patient and understanding, drawing a parallel to a parent’s reaction to a child’s mistake.

“It is not that I do not know some people might believe it is true, but when a child soils your hand, you do not chop the hand off,” he said.

The ‘Ujana‘ hitmaker added that he had entrusted the matter to divine judgment and had already forgiven Ibraah, stating that he did not seek an apology from him, suggesting that any remorse should be directed towards a higher power.

“First, I have handed it over to God. Second, I have forgiven him. Lastly, I am praying for him. I do not need any apology from him. If he sees the need to apologise, fine. If he feels there is something to ask forgiveness for from the people who heard those words, that is okay too. However, the one who deserves the apology most is God. If it pleases God, then the time will come. Let him speak to his God with a sincere heart, and that will earn him more blessings and help him go far,” Harmonize explained.

Despite the recent intense exchange between the two artists, Harmonize clarified that he harbors no ill will towards Ibraah and offered reconciliation, stating that despite Ibraah’s departure from Konde Gang, he would always be welcome to return.

“As far as I am concerned, I have no problem with him. He is my brother, and Konde Gang will always remain his home,” he added.

The controversy surrounding the alleged private room incident surfaced on Sunday, May 11, 2025, when Ibraah responded to Harmonize’s earlier Instagram outburst accusing him of deceit, disloyalty, and arrogance. This fallout occurred after Ibraah publicly expressed his desire to leave Harmonize’s Konde Gang label, citing a demand of Ksh 48 million (approximately Tsh1 billion) for his release.

In his response, Ibraah alluded to potentially unprofessional motives behind Harmonize’s reluctance to let him go, questioning if his former mentor intended to keep him at the label to continue inviting him into private rooms with questionable intentions.

“I know your goal is to ensure I completely lose help so that I come back to ask you for rent, and you call me into your room like you did the first time and your attempt failed,” Ibraah wrote, adding bluntly, “I am not food bro. I am a street guy.”

However, as the dispute progressed, Ibraah later adopted a more conciliatory tone, expressing gratitude to Harmonize for his role in launching his music career and providing him with a platform in the Tanzanian Swahili music scene.

“Your help in my life has been great, you helped me a lot, Brother Konde,” he acknowledged.
