Flavia Tumusiime appointed Head of Broadcast at Nation Media Group
Nation Media Group (NMG) has appointed Flavia Tumusiime as the new head of broadcast, a position that will see her oversee its television and radio stations, including Dembe FM, Spark TV, KFM, and NTV Uganda.

KAMPALA, UGANDA — Nation Media Group (NMG) has announced the appointment of renowned media personality Flavia Tumusiime to the newly created position of Head of Broadcast.

In this strategic role, Tumusiime will assume leadership over NMG’s extensive television and radio portfolio, encompassing prominent stations such as Dembe FM, Spark TV, KFM, and NTV Uganda.

This appointment follows a strategic restructuring within NMG, which involved the discontinuation of the General Manager TV role, previously held by Johnson Omollo. The newly established Head of Broadcast position aims to consolidate leadership and enhance synergy across the company’s radio and television operations.

Flavia Tumusiime brings over two decades of extensive experience in the media landscape. Her career commenced at the early age of 14 as the host of Teen’s Club on WBS TV. At 18, she transitioned to radio, initially at Hot100FM before joining Capital Radio in 2006.

Her dynamic career trajectory also included a four-year stint at Channel O, further broadening her regional recognition. In 2015, Tumusiime joined NTV Uganda, a part of the NMG network, where she served as a news anchor and morning show host until her departure in May 2021. More recently, she returned to Capital FM, where she has been hosting Desert Island Discs, following a successful period hosting a mid-morning program.

Announcing her appointment on Instagram, Flavia Tumusiime expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm for this new phase in her professional journey.

“God has chosen a new path this year, and I’m glad to answer the call. Television and radio gave me a career worth being proud of, and I’m glad to find my way back in this way to grow not just the industry but also the talent to continue the journey,” she wrote.

“I pray that I have your support on this new chapter as you’ve supported me at every endeavor and pivot over the years.”
