NAIROBI, Kenya — Kenyan comedian and activist Eric Omondi has shed light on the origins of his long-running public feud with content creator Andrew Kibe, saying the fallout began after Kibe allegedly launched personal attacks against him online.
Speaking during an interview with media personality Trudy Kitui, Omondi recounted how the dispute escalated from online criticism into one of Kenya’s most widely followed celebrity rivalries.
According to Omondi, the conflict began when Kibe publicly mocked and criticised him on social media, prompting him to retaliate by revealing information he claimed to know about Kibe’s personal life while living in the United States.
‘He insulted me first’
During the interview, Omondi said he felt compelled to respond after Kibe allegedly targeted him with a series of personal remarks.
The comedian claimed that Kibe referred to him using feminine nicknames and made comments questioning his character.
“He insulted me first. It happened online,” Omondi said.

According to Omondi, Kibe referred to him as “Erica Amondi,” mocked him as being feminine and suggested he had mood swings.
“He called me Erica Amondi. He said I was like a woman and claimed I had mood swings,” Omondi said.
The comedian said those remarks marked a turning point in their relationship and influenced his decision to publicly respond.
Why he exposed Kibe
During the conversation, Kitui asked Omondi whether he had publicly exposed aspects of Kibe’s personal life.
Omondi acknowledged doing so and said the decision came after the online attacks.
According to him, Kibe was living in the United States with a woman at the time.
“Yes. He was living in America with a woman, so I exposed him,” Omondi said.
When asked why he chose to reveal the information instead of handling the matter privately, Omondi maintained that he was reacting to a public attack.
“I knew his secrets, so I revealed them.”
The comedian suggested that his actions were a response rather than a premeditated attempt to target Kibe.
No lasting animosity?
Despite years of public exchanges between the two personalities, Omondi indicated that he does not hold lasting resentment toward Kibe.
When asked whether the pair could eventually reconcile and put their differences behind them, the comedian gave a brief but telling response.
“He’s my boy.”
The remark suggests that despite the highly public nature of their disputes, Omondi does not view the fallout as irreparable.
A feud that has played out online
Over the years, the rivalry between Omondi and Kibe has frequently generated discussion on Kenyan social media platforms, with both personalities occasionally exchanging criticism and commentary directed at one another.
The latest remarks offer one of the clearest explanations yet from Omondi about how the conflict began and why he chose to respond publicly.
While neither side has indicated any immediate plans for reconciliation, Omondi’s comments suggest that the feud may not be as personal as it has often appeared to audiences online.
