NAIROBI, Kenya — The Kenyan government has initiated the immediate evacuation of its citizens residing in Israel and Iran, as the escalating conflict between the two nations threatens to spiral into a full-scale regional crisis.

The urgent directive, issued by the State Department for Diaspora Affairs on Saturday, June 21, 2025, calls upon all Kenyan citizens in both countries to register without delay for emergency assistance.

This critical announcement follows a formal safety advisory issued just days prior, which cautioned Kenyans in the Middle East to exercise extreme caution amid the intensifying hostilities.

The conflict has seen Israel and Iran trading heavy missile and drone attacks, with civilian infrastructure and urban areas increasingly caught in the crossfire.

“For your safety and to ensure we can assist you promptly in case of any emergency or distress, we kindly ask you to register your details with the State Department for Diaspora Affairs,” the Saturday statement read, underscoring the growing urgency for foreign nationals in the volatile region.

To facilitate the evacuation process, the Department has provided a dedicated link to an official evacuation form via its online platform.

Citizens are encouraged to either complete the form directly or scan a QR code made available through the official channels of the Kenyan Embassy in Tel Aviv.

This move highlights Kenya’s proactive stance in joining a growing list of countries scrambling to extract their citizens amidst mounting fears of a wider regional war that has already drawn in global powers and triggered widespread displacement.

While the exact number of Kenyan citizens currently in Israel and Iran has not been publicly disclosed, officials have confirmed that dedicated monitoring teams are on standby.

The government is reportedly working in close coordination with its embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran to ensure a safe and timely exit for all affected nationals.

Specific details regarding evacuation routes or timelines have not yet been revealed. However, sources suggest that coordination efforts are underway with international partners and humanitarian agencies.

These efforts aim to facilitate airlifts and overland convoys, contingent on the evolving security situation on the ground.

As of Saturday evening, authorities confirmed that no injuries or fatalities of Kenyan nationals had been reported, but they remain vigilant and in continuous contact with both diplomatic missions.

How to register for Kenyan evacuation from Israel and Iran
