KAMPALA, Uganda — Ugandan musical artist Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, is wanted by police in connection with the death of a former member of his Fangone Forest crew, Wilfred Namuwaya, alias Top Dancer.

According to a police detective involved in the investigation, Namuwaya’s decision to leave the group had angered its leader. Police in the Katwe Division allege that Namuwaya was abducted from his home in Ndeeba over the weekend by an individual linked to Fangone Forest. He was then reportedly taken to the group’s base in Kizungu, Makindye, where he was allegedly tortured on Alien Skin’s orders.

Before his death, Namuwaya reportedly told investigators about the ordeal. “They picked me up at my home, claiming that I stole something, and took me back. When they reached there, I was beaten, kicked by several people on orders of Alien, saying; Why did I leave the group?,” Namuwaya recounted.

A doctor at a Kizungu clinic, who requested anonymity, said Namuwaya was brought in at night and abandoned outside the facility. “He had severe internal bleeding beyond our capacity,” the doctor said. “We tried to save him through the night before referring him to Mulago hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.”

The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, stated that detectives are actively hunting for Alien Skin and several of his associates, including ‘Commander Mdogo’, Ibra Kabadiya, and Mijagulo, in connection with the fatal assault.

“The group severely beat Namuwaya and later dumped him at a clinic,” Onyango said. “We are pursuing all those involved, including Mulwana Patrick, alias Alien Skin.”

Police records at Katwe link Alien Skin and his crew to a string of violent incidents.

Last year, the group allegedly stormed Nsambya Hospital, assaulting a doctor and two security guards after their demand for a colleague’s medical forms was denied.

In a separate incident the same year, Alien Skin was accused of assaulting a bouncer at a bar in Makindye. He was arrested for the first incident and was remanded to Luzira Prison for several weeks before being released on bail.
