ELDORET, Kenya — Police in Eldoret are investigating a disturbing incident after a man received a parcel containing three human fingers and six live bullets.
The recipient told authorities that on Friday, he was contacted by an unknown man who arranged for a rider to deliver the package to him at a bar.
Upon opening the envelope, the man discovered three fingers—a forefinger, a ring finger, and a little finger, all from a left hand—along with four 7.62mm and two 9mm live bullets.
There was no accompanying message. The fingers have been transported to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary for verification, and fingerprints have been taken for analysis.
The bullets were sent for ballistic testing.
Police have since questioned the rider and are attempting to trace the sender, who has since turned off his phone.
The motive behind the gruesome delivery and the identity of the person to whom the fingers belonged remains unknown. Authorities are exploring the possibility that the individual may have been killed or mutilated.
