President Ruto rallies behind Arsenal ahead of crucial Champions League clash with PSG
Kenya President William Ruto shows off his football skills.

NAIROBI, KENYA — President William Ruto has publicly expressed his strong support for Arsenal Football Club, conveying a message of optimism ahead of their critical UEFA Champions League semi-final encounter against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). He voiced his belief that the Gunners possess the capability to secure a coveted spot in the tournament’s final.

During a ceremonial reception for the UEFA Champions League trophy at State House Nairobi on Friday, May 2, the Head of State, known for his avid support of the English Premier League team, articulated his confidence in Arsenal’s ability to reverse their current deficit.

“As has been said, I am an Arsenal supporter, and I hope they overturn the one-nil loss to PSG this week when they meet in Paris next Wednesday and advance to the finals to hopefully lift this trophy,” President Ruto declared.

Arsenal currently trails by a single goal following the first leg of the semi-final against the French club.

However, President Ruto remains convinced that the North London team, which is experiencing one of its most successful seasons in recent years, has the resilience and skill to rise to the occasion and secure a place in the final match, scheduled to be held in Munich, Germany.

President William Ruto was joined by football legend and former German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

“Since I am the last to hold it, I am praying for my team so that this year they lift this trophy in the finals. Whichever team you are rooting for, let us enjoy the game,” he added, while holding the iconic trophy and smiling.

Arsenal is scheduled to travel to Paris for the decisive second leg at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, May 7. A victory by a margin of more than one goal would propel them into the final and potentially culminate in their long-awaited Champions League triumph.

President Ruto’s remarks have generated considerable excitement among local football enthusiasts, many of whom have taken to social media platforms to echo his sentiments and express their support for the Gunners.

The presence of the Champions League trophy at State House is part of its global tour, offering fans a rare opportunity to view the prestigious prize and heightening anticipation for Europe’s premier football event.
