SHA recruiting for 8 senior positions - Find out how to apply
The Social Health Authority (SHA) Board is seeking to recruit “visionary, result-driven and experienced professionals” for eight vacant positions.

NAIROBI, KENYA — The Social Health Authority (SHA) Board has announced a recruitment drive for eight key leadership positions, seeking “visionary, result-driven and experienced professionals” to bolster its institutional capacity.

A public notice issued on Thursday detailed the vacant roles, which include: Deputy Director, Human Resource Management and Development; Deputy Director, Administration; Deputy Director, Corporate Communication; and Deputy Director, Finance and Accounts.

The SHA is also seeking to fill two Assistant Director positions in Legal Services and two Assistant Director positions in Claims and Case Management. Detailed job descriptions are accessible on the authority’s recruitment portal: https://recruitment.sha.go.ke/.

The notice emphasized that all applicants must meet the requirements stipulated in Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution by providing valid and current copies of several essential documents. These include a Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), a Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), a Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), a Clearance Certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), and a report from a Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

Interested candidates are required to submit their applications, comprising a comprehensive curriculum vitae, copies of academic and professional certificates, a compelling cover letter demonstrating their suitability for the desired position, and contact information for at least three professional referees.

Applications should be addressed to: The Chairperson, Social Health Authority, PO Box 30443-00100, Ragati Road, Nairobi.

Submissions can be made online through https://recruitment.sha.go.ke/ or physically delivered to the Social Health Authority Building, located on the 10th Floor. The deadline for all applications is May 15, 2025.

SHA’s recruitment drive underscores its commitment to enhancing its institutional capacity and fulfilling its ambitious service delivery mandate.

The notice further affirmed SHA’s unwavering commitment to the core principles of integrity, professionalism, and excellence in the delivery of public service. The authority’s fundamental objective is to ensure financial risk protection for all Kenyan residents by facilitating equitable access to high-quality healthcare services.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of a dismissal by the Ministry of Health of a previous announcement of job vacancies for SHA.

In a statement released on Sunday, the MoH labeled that particular public notice, which advertised at least 28 job openings with a deadline of April 27, 2025, as “fake.”
