KAMPALA, Uganda — Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder of prominent Ugandan TikToker and social media creator Diana Skyz, whose body was found in her Kyanja apartment in Kampala earlier this week, police say.
The incident, which has shocked Uganda’s online community, occurred on the night of February 3, 2026, in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja Ward, Kawempe Division, according to Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police.
Namulinde Diana, popularly known by her online pseudonym Diana Skyz, was discovered dead on February 4 after friends became concerned when they were unable to reach her, prompting them to check on her at her rented home.
“She was killed by unknown people who accessed her apartment on Tuesday night,” a close friend, Shanita, told colleagues shortly after her death was publicised.
Police say detectives are investigating the case as aggravated robbery and murder by strangulation. Diana Skyz, aged 24, was living alone in the Kyanja residence when the attack occurred.
Arrests and evidence
According to police statements, a security guard attached to the premises was among the first to be taken into custody after he was found in possession of items suspected to have been stolen from the victim. Some of the recovered property was later identified as belonging to Diana Skyz.
Owoyesigyire confirmed that three suspects have been identified, and two have been arrested to assist with ongoing investigations. The body of the deceased has been taken to the KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for a post-mortem examination, with police forensic teams documenting the scene and collecting exhibits.
“A team of homicide detectives and Scene of Crime Officers visited and documented the scene. Several exhibits were recovered, and statements from relevant witnesses recorded,” the police spokesperson said.

Diana Skyz was a well-known figure in Kampala’s entertainment and digital-media landscape, celebrated for her lifestyle and fashion content and her growing following on TikTok. News of her death prompted widespread grief and tributes from fellow creators and fans across social platforms.
Her killing comes amid broader concerns over violent crime in Uganda, where police crime data from recent years show thousands of homicide cases nationwide.
Analysts link many of these incidents to factors including robbery, domestic disputes, land conflicts and mob justice. Urban murders involving young women often provoke heightened public worry about personal safety and gender-based violence.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue, emphasising that due legal processes will be followed.
