Meru woman reveals how she was tricked into making viral sex video

MERU, Kenya — The woman at the center of a viral explicit video, known publicly as the “Mama Mboga” lady, has broken her silence, providing a detailed account of the events that led to the creation and circulation of the adult content online.

Speaking in a video shared on Monday, October 27, 2025, the woman revealed that her desperate financial circumstances and the promise of securing a husband led her into a deceptive agreement with another woman. She described how this arrangement has now brought her widespread shame.

The woman recounted how her desperation for a provider and a husband led her to meet the intermediary, who promised to help her find a partner.

She described how this lady lured her by showcasing an appealing lifestyle: a life where all her bills were taken care of without the need to “toil” outside the house.

The woman recalled the exact deceptive pitch: “Mimi nilidanganywa na msichana mwingine aliniambia, ‘kuja nikuonyeshe vile unaweza pata bwana,’ akaniambia mimi nafanayanga. Unaona hata huwa sitoki kwa nyumba na nakula na nalipa rent,” she recalled.

Lured by the promise of income

The “mama mboga” revealed her limited knowledge of the internet and digital platforms. She narrated that the intermediary then explained how to create adult content and share it online to generate income after finding a partner.

She continued, detailing how she was instructed: “Akaniambia kuja sasa nikuoneshe vile unaweza fanya, akaenda akanionesha vile tunaingia internet, akaniambia sasa utapata mtu wa kukusaidia,” she narrated.

Following these steps, the woman recalled that she did find a man whom she initially believed was her “ideal man.” However, she was soon betrayed.

Recounting her first interaction with the man, she noted how he inquired about the number of children she had. She revealed that she was taking care of seven children.

“Sasa nilipongia sikua ninanjua kama huyo ni mwizi, akaniambia sasa niko tayari kukuoa na akaniuliza niko na watoto wangapi nikamwambia niko na watoto wangu wanne na wa dada wangu watatu,” she added.

(Translation: “Now, when I got involved, I didn’t know he was a ‘thief’ (deceiver/betrayer). He told me he was ready to marry me and asked how many children I had. I told him I had four of my own children and three belonging to my sister.”)

The man then allegedly established a set of rules as a condition for marriage, which she agreed to in her quest for stability.

She concluded the initial part of her account by stating the man’s terms: “Akaniambia sasa niko tayari kukuoa bora tu utii sheria zangu utakua ukiniskiza mimi kama bwana yako nikamwambia ni sawa.”

(Translation: “He told me, ‘I am now ready to marry you, provided you obey my rules, you will be listening to me as your husband,’ and I told him it was okay.”)
