NAIROBI, Kenya — Detectives in Buruburu are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 41-year-old man who was fatally stabbed on Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Collins Onyango, succumbed to his injuries following a reported confrontation at a relative’s residence.

According to preliminary police reports, Onyango was visiting his nephew’s home when a heated argument erupted between him and a 17-year-old girl. The situation turned violent when the teenager allegedly seized a kitchen knife and stabbed Onyango in the neck.

A neighbor who witnessed the incident immediately alerted the authorities. Onyango was rushed to Edel Vale Trust Jamaa Mission Hospital in Buruburu; however, medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.

The suspect, who sustained minor injuries during the commotion, was treated at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital before being processed into police custody. Detectives have since recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the attack.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Buruburu has officially taken over the case. Forensic teams have processed both the scene of the crime and the hospital where the victim was first taken.

Onyango’s body is currently at the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death and provide further evidence for the prosecution.
