NAIROBI, Kenya — Websites belonging to several critical government ministries were targeted in a cyberattack on Monday morning, resulting in the defacement and disruption of access to essential public services.
The affected ministries include the Interior, Health, Education, Energy, Labour, and Water departments.
Access to a majority of these official websites was rendered inaccessible as the attackers altered their visual appearance and content, replacing legitimate information with unauthorized, ideologically charged material.
The messages displayed on the compromised sites included the following cryptic and hateful encryptions:
“Access denied by PCP,” “We will rise again,” “White power worldwide” and “14:88 Heil Hitler.”

The breach was sustained throughout most of Monday morning, severely disrupting citizens’ ability to access critical government information and services.
The incident underscores the persistent vulnerability of public digital infrastructure to both hacktivist groups and politically motivated cyber threats.
