BUKEDEA, Uganda — The corruption investigation involving properties linked to outgoing Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among has widened to include her radio station, school, and teaching hospital in Bukedea District.
A joint security team comprising officers from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), Police, and the Internal Security Organisation (ISO) conducted a several-hour search at Mama Bukedea FM, where detectives reportedly sought information on staff structures and institutional operations.
Sources familiar with the operation said investigators requested lists of employees across the radio station and other entities within the Bukedea complex.
“They asked for details of employees at the radio, the school, and other facilities within the compound. At the time, only junior staff were present, and we explained that management was not on site,” said one employee who spoke on condition of anonymity.
According to the same sources, detectives also inquired about vehicle allocations linked to Anita Foundation, including the location of parked vehicles and records of drivers attached to the organisation. Particular attention was reportedly directed at a school bus belonging to Bukedea Comprehensive School, amid claims it may have originated from parliamentary resources.
However, staff present at the time said they were unable to provide detailed information on ownership arrangements or vehicle documentation.
Investigators are also understood to have examined the operational relationship between Mama Bukedea FM and FUFA FM, which shares the same 102.1 MHz frequency. FUFA FM is owned by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), chaired by Moses Magogo, the husband of Anita Among.
The search forms part of a wider multi-agency operation that has already extended to several properties linked to Among, including her residence in Aputiput village in Kamutur Sub-county, her mother’s home in Apopong village in Kolir Sub-county, and the residence of her personal assistant in Obur Ngazor village.

Security sources indicate that further searches may extend to additional associates as investigators continue mapping assets and institutional linkages allegedly connected to the former Speaker.
Among, who has served as Woman Member of Parliament (MP) for Bukedea District since 2016, is under scrutiny in an ongoing probe into alleged corruption, illicit enrichment, and financial irregularities during her tenure in the 11th Parliament.
Authorities have not yet issued an official statement on the latest searches.
