DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania — Tanzanian singer Zuhura Othman Soud, widely known as Zuchu, has ignited a public debate after accusing Leap Creative Studio of failing to pay her outstanding balance for her performance at the CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2025 closing ceremony.
The event, which took place on August 30, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, saw Zuchu share the stage with Kenyan artist Delvin Mudigi (Savara) and Ugandan star Eddy Kenzo. The trio delivered electrifying performances ahead of the final match between Morocco and Madagascar.
However, a day later, Zuchu took to her Instagram stories to publicly call out the agency for allegedly withholding her payment. In a series of posts, she voiced her frustration, writing, “I work tirelessly and hard, kindly respect my hard work. Pay the balance @leapcreativestudio.”
The singer further alleged that her fellow performer, Savara, had also not been compensated, stating, “You haven’t even paid @savarafrica, his manager just contacted me right now.”

In a direct appeal to her fans, Zuchu urged them to pressure CAF to cut ties with the agency.

“Go at CAF’s page, tell them #LeapCreativeAgency are scammers. Please drop them as your agency. The last post at CAF’s page and we comment as many times as possible,” she instructed her followers.
As of now, neither CAF nor Leap Creative Studio has issued an official response to the allegations.
For many fans and industry observers, the incident has raised wider concerns about how African artists are treated at major continental events, sparking a renewed debate on the critical issues of fair pay and accountability within the entertainment industry.
