NAIROBI, Kenya — Nine Kenyan luminaries have earned a prestigious place on the 2026 list of the “100 Most Reputable Africans,” a definitive ranking that celebrates ethical leadership, groundbreaking innovation, and substantial societal contributions.
The annual honors, curated by the Global Reputation Forum in collaboration with Reputation Poll International, serve as a benchmark for leaders whose credibility and tangible impact have elevated Africa’s profile globally.
Unlike popularity-based rankings, this list utilizes a rigorous, evidence-driven selection process focused on public trust, sustained excellence, and integrity.
Governance and the rule of law
Kenya’s legal and diplomatic prowess took center stage in this year’s selection.
Leading the pack is Attorney General Dorcas Agik Oduor, recognized in the leadership, governance, and public trust category.
“Her career is defined by a deep commitment to the rule of law, constitutionalism and institutional integrity,” the recognition notes.
Having previously shaped prosecutorial standards at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Oduor is credited with significantly strengthening Kenya’s judicial framework.
Joining her is Justice Phoebe Okowa, a professor of international law at Queen Mary University of London and a newly elected judge of the International Court of Justice.
“Her reputation reflects high-level professional trust, credibility in multilateral legal circles, and a record of advising on complex issues such as state responsibility and accountability in international law,” the report states.
Economic transformation and enterprise
In the sector of wealth creation, Bharat Rach A. Tribhovandas, the founder of Healthy U, was lauded for revolutionizing the regional wellness market.
The forum noted that Tribhovandas “played a central role in expanding access to quality nutrition, preventive healthcare products and lifestyle wellness solutions across East Africa.”
Media, legal expertise, and diplomacy
In the media category, celebrated journalist Wahiga Mwaura of Citizen TV was honored for his dedication to ethical storytelling. The report highlights that Mwaura “has played a significant role in strengthening credible journalism and informed public discourse, while amplifying African stories around governance, accountability, development and social change.”
The legal sector saw further recognition for Peter Manyonge Wanyama, a policy expert who has drafted 32 legislative statutes for various government agencies.
“He has drafted 32 legislative statutes for government ministries and agencies and facilitated over 185 strategic seminars on topics ranging from devolution and land law to energy policy,” reads the report.
Additionally, Princess Caroline N. Mutisya of CR Advocates LLP was praised for her strategic insight into commercial law.

Education and social impact
Dr. Anne Makena, co-director of the Africa Oxford Initiative (AfOx), was honored for bridging the gap between African scholars and global research platforms.
Meanwhile, entrepreneur Hassan Baraka, CEO of Swahili Beach Resort, was celebrated for his mentorship of young African entrepreneurs.
The essence of reputation
The Global Reputation Forum emphasizes that this list is a reflection of consistent ethical conduct.

According to the organizers, “reputation is built, protected and sustained by what one consistently stands for, especially when no one is watching.”
The 2026 honorees represent a cross-section of governance, science, culture, and civil society, providing a roadmap for the next generation of African leaders.
