Kenya’s daring sex preacher Susan Munene urges couples to use eye contact to detect infidelity

Pastor Susan Munene
Renowned pastor Sue Munene shot to fame after encouraging couples to enjoy sex anywhere in their house.

NAIROBI, Kenya — Controversial Kenyan ‘Twa Twa’ preacher and relationship counselor Pastor Susan Munene, known for her straightforward approach, has offered a unique piece of advice for couples grappling with suspicions of infidelity: utilize direct eye contact to discern their partner’s truthfulness.

During a Sunday interview on a local television station, aired on June 1, 2025, Pastor Munene explained that eye contact serves not only as a form of emotional communication but also as a practical method to sense dishonesty or hidden guilt within a relationship.

She asserted that gazing into a person’s eyes can reveal significantly more than spoken words, and that couples should regularly engage in this practice to strengthen their emotional bond and uncover any latent issues.

“I have taught eye-to-eye contact to many couples. When you look into each other’s eyes, you can immediately sense if something is wrong. You can tell if someone is grieving, angry, or disturbed. The Bible itself says the eyes are the window to the soul—if your eye is right, your whole body is right,” she stated.

According to Pastor Munene, individuals who are being unfaithful often avoid making eye contact and will struggle to maintain a steady gaze when confronted with the suspicion.

She encouraged individuals to calmly ask their partners to look them in the eye and deny any wrongdoing, suggesting that an inability to sustain eye contact could be an indicator of guilt.

“Even if someone is cheating, they will not manage to look you straight in the eyes. Ask them to do so and say, ‘I am not cheating’. If they hesitate or look away, something is not right.”

Drawing from her own marital experience, she shared that she and her husband, Pastor Munene, have a nightly ritual of sitting together at a small table in their home, where they silently look into each other’s eyes.

She explained that this seemingly simple routine is a powerful practice that reinforces their connection and maintains their emotional intimacy.

“My husband and I still do it. We sit down and just look at each other without speaking. Even without talking, you are communicating deeply. That is how you stay emotionally connected.”

Beyond eye contact, Pastor Munene also advised couples to prioritize physical closeness, emphasizing that touch, both casual and intentional, is vital in keeping love alive and preventing emotional distance.

“Learn to touch one another. When you are with your husband, keep touching him—even when it is unnecessary. That physical contact matters.”

Addressing marital toxicity

Earlier, on Saturday, April 5, 2025, Pastor Sue cautioned couples entering relationships with existing children to avoid deceiving each other about their children’s well-being, particularly concerning hidden drug-related issues.

Pastor Sue informed parents that such deception often creates a breeding ground for marital toxicity, as the other partner will eventually become hostile upon discovering the truth that the children had been presented as more virtuous than reality.

“After that, let’s talk about our children. The second-born is deep into drugs, and the third is entangled in wild living. Then we ask, how do we support each other? So he doesn’t walk in on the kids drinking and start asking why, yet you had sworn they were born again. And him, the same.”

Pastor Sue, who gained notoriety for her viral ‘twa twa’ catchphrase, insisted that couples who have experienced divorce and are seeking fulfillment in new marriages must practice full disclosure, including openly discussing the reasons behind their previous separations.

In her view, while no one desires divorce or the loss of a spouse, coming to terms with these painful realities plays a crucial role in achieving peace and fulfillment in future relationships.

“Number one is to accept that something happened. No one walks down the aisle hoping for divorce. No one marries expecting their spouse to die. That was beyond your expectations. When it happens, don’t live in denial. Surround yourself with people who can speak life into you.”

To facilitate this healing, she even recommended that couples seek professional help, such as therapy, to reconcile with past heartbreaks before entering new unions, adding that unresolved emotional wounds often lead to toxic relationships.

“Sit down afterwards and acknowledge that we both have a past. Look for a therapist. Don’t try to counsel each other. Therapy doesn’t mean you’re crazy. Let someone guide you through the steps, then put those lessons into practice. You must walk in unity. Admit your past.”
