NAIROBI, KENYA — Motorists nationwide can anticipate an end to recent delays in obtaining motor vehicle number plates following the National Transport and Safety Authority’s (NTSA) confirmation of a new consignment.
This delivery aims to alleviate the backlog that has affected service delivery in recent months.
NTSA Board Chair Khatib Mwashetani verified the arrival of the fresh batch of plates during a visit to the Authority’s facilities.
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to enhancing service delivery and resolving issues within the supply chain.
The NTSA is advising clients who have already applied for number plates and have received SMS notifications to collect their plates from the NTSA offices where their applications were initially submitted.
NTSA Director General George Njao assured both the public and motor vehicle dealers that the shortage experienced in recent months has been fully resolved.
He indicated that production has now stabilized, and the Authority is committed to ensuring a consistent supply of number plates moving forward.
“The concerns from the public and stakeholders were valid, and we appreciate their patience. We are now back on track, and clients can expect timely service,” stated Mr. Njao.
The previous shortage was attributed to a lack of essential raw materials.
