FIFA confirms Kenya to host Gambia, Seychelles in 2026 World Cup qualifiers at Kasarani

NAIROBI, Kenya — The Harambee Stars are set to return to home soil next month, as FIFA has confirmed that Kenya will host two crucial 2026 World Cup Qualifier matches at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Kenya will face The Gambia on September 5 and Seychelles on September 9 at Kasarani. This marks a significant boost for the team, as it will be the first time in years that the Harambee Stars play World Cup qualifiers on their home ground.

Currently positioned fourth in Group F with six points, trailing leaders Ivory Coast by ten points, Kenya will aim to leverage their recent impressive performance in the CHAN 2024 tournament under their new head coach, Benni McCarthy.

In addition to Kenya’s matches, Nairobi will also host the qualifier between The Gambia and Burundi on September 9 at Nyayo Stadium, further solidifying Kenya’s role as a host nation for these vital international fixtures.

The Harambee Stars will be targeting essential home points as they continue their challenging 2026 World Cup campaign.
