NAIROBI, Kenya — A man was tragically killed on Saturday while attempting to cross the Thika Superhighway near the Garden City Mall.

The unidentified individual was reportedly running across the eight-lane highway from the direction of the Homeland restaurant toward the mall, despite the presence of a nearby footbridge.

According to a witness, the man was struck by a speeding vehicle.

In a harrowing turn of events, a second car then ran over him, and bystanders had to intervene to pull him out from under the vehicle.

The incident, which occurred just under the footbridge, caused a significant traffic jam on the busy highway as authorities had not yet arrived at the scene to manage the situation and remove the body.
