NAIROBI, Kenya — President William Ruto has issued a strong appeal to Kenyans, urging them to reject divisive politics and leaders who incite the youth to violence.

Speaking on Thursday in Embakasi East, Nairobi, the President asserted that such leaders demonstrate a fundamental lack of meaningful plans for the nation’s progress.

The President sharply criticized a segment of the political class, accusing them of perpetuating tribalism, hate, and violence solely for political gain.

“Hawajui tutafanya nini ili tuzalishe chakula, vijana wapate ajira, na tuwe na matibabu. Lakini wanataka kutumia watoto wa Kenya kuleta vurugu, kuchoma, na kuharibu mali ya wananchi. Hawa viongozi hawana mpango,” said Ruto, emphasizing that such politicians lack concrete solutions for food production, youth employment, and healthcare.

The Head of State underscored that tribalism and incitement are outdated tactics that only serve to derail national progress and destabilize the country’s peace and development.

In addition to his call for political unity, President Ruto announced significant plans to scale up the Affordable Housing Programme. He revealed intentions to double the number of youth employed under this initiative from 300,000 to 600,000 across the country within the next three months.

The President made these remarks during the commissioning of the rehabilitated Bridge Savannah–Stage 17–Masimba Road, a critical infrastructure project that spans Embakasi Central and Embakasi East constituencies.

He further stated that the government has launched a comprehensive infrastructure plan aimed at transforming Nairobi into a leading global hub.

The first phase of this ambitious plan will see at least 70 kilometers of roads constructed across the city, designed to boost trade, alleviate traffic congestion, and stimulate economic growth.

President Ruto also pledged that construction of a new stadium in Jacaranda will commence in September of this year, signaling continued investment in public facilities and youth development.
