KAMPALA, UGANDA —  A recent radio appearance by social commentator Frank Gashumba has ignited a wave of online discussion, centered on his assertion that his daughter, media personality Sheila Gashumba, has never used a taxi for transportation in her life.

During a talk show on Radio 4, Gashumba elaborated on his commitment to providing his children with a life of comfort and affluence. He stressed that ensuring their access to premium experiences has consistently been a fundamental aspect of his parenting philosophy.

His statements have prompted a wide range of reactions and commentary across social media platforms.

“I swear upon Allah, she has never used a taxi in her life. For the fewest times, maybe she used a van to go to school at Kabojja, but that’s not a taxi,” Gashumba stated. “She has also only used the Scandinavian Express bus once for a trip.”

Gashumba clarified that his intention was not to display wealth, but rather to offer insight into his parenting approach.

“When I say this, people think I am showing off, but these are facts. I personally have used taxis uncountable times,” he added.

His comments have prompted widespread online conversations, with many individuals reflecting on the varied experiences of privilege and everyday life.
