How Bash Luks' music career soared after joining May Boy Records
Bash Luks says joining May Boy Records marked a major turning point in his music career.

KAMPALA, Uganda — Musician and community activist Bash Luks recently discussed the pivotal shift in his career following his signing with May Boy Records, a prominent music recording company based in Uganda, East Africa.

This opportunity, according to Luks, marked a definitive and positive turning point in his professional trajectory.

Over the five years since joining the label, Bash Luks has carved out a remarkable position in the music industry. Leveraging his exceptional songwriting talent, he has ascended to become one of the most highly regarded and promising songwriters in the nation.

In a recent interview with Vivid Voice News, Luks highlighted how May Boy Records has been instrumental in professionalizing his music career, particularly in critical areas like music distribution and marketing.

He attributes much of his growth to the environment and the people he’s worked with at the label.

Bashir Lukonge, popularly known as Bash Luks credits May Boy Records for elevating his craft and visibility in the music industry.

Bash Luks’ exact words on the experience were:

“It has been an enriching journey of acquiring knowledge, exploring new experiences, and connecting with diverse individuals. These individuals are highly esteemed figures in the Ugandan music industry, and I feel incredibly blessed to have had the opportunity to collaborate with them at this level.”

He contrasted his current success with the difficulties he faced before his contract, noting that getting his music played on the radio was a significant and often unsuccessful challenge.

Luks views the offer from May Boy Records as a once-in-a-lifetime chance that transcended any financial consideration.

He firmly believes that his current level of achievement and fulfillment would have been impossible to reach without the label’s support.

Under the May Boy Records banner, Bash Luks has successfully released several tracks, including “High,” “Drum,” and “Sexy Love.” He is currently focused on creating his highly anticipated debut album, which is slated for release later this year.
