KAMPALA, Uganda — East African hip-hop icon Navio is preparing to deliver a unique fusion of rhythm and orchestral performance at his highly anticipated Orchestra Concert, scheduled for October 4 at the Serena Kampala Hotel.

The event is being described as a landmark cultural celebration, intended to unite the sounds of Eastern, Western, and Northern Africa on a single stage for the first time.

The concert is set to feature a number of major African and global stars, with anticipated attendance or performances from artists such as Burna Boy, Keith Sweat, Wizkid, Sarkodie, Ice Prince, King Saha, Chameleone, and Bobi Wine, pending any changes.

Navio expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “This concert is more than music- it’s East Africa’s heartbeat meeting global rhythms in symphonic harmony. I am thrilled to share this immersive experience with my fans and celebrate the legacy we have built across the continent.”

This unprecedented concert marks Navio’s most ambitious artistic endeavor to date, blending his established hip-hop legacy with sweeping orchestral arrangements.

Born Daniel Lubwama Kigozi, Navio first rose to prominence as a founding member of the influential Ugandan hip-hop group Klear Kut, pioneers of the “Ugaflow” sound. He was also the first Ugandan hip-hop artist to be nominated for a Kora Award in the early 2000s.

His solo career flourished with a string of chart-topping hits, including “Ngalo,” “Bugumu,” “One & Only,” and the international collaboration “On and On” with American R&B star Keith Sweat.

Navio is widely regarded as the most decorated East African hip-hop artist of all time, holding multiple awards from the Pearl of Africa Music Awards and the African Entertainment Awards, alongside more than 30 local and international nominations and victories.

Tickets for the event are priced at Shs 150,000, with tables available for Shs 3 million, Shs 5 million, and Shs 10 million. They can be purchased through the Serena Kampala Hotel’s box office and Navio’s official channels.
