SANCHEONG, South Korea — A powerful landslide, unleashed by relentless rainfall, has buried homes in Sancheong county, South Korea, resulting in at least one confirmed fatality and leaving three others missing.
The tragic incident was reported by the national fire agency.
Officials confirmed that the landslide hit a small village located in the southern county, leading to the destruction of two houses.
The severity of the event prompted an urgent evacuation order for all 34,000 residents in the affected area.

An official from the Sancheong county fire station provided an update on the situation: “At least three people have been reported missing and we have recovered one body.”
