KIAMBU, Kenya — Juja Member of Parliament (MP) George Koimburi has been found abandoned at a coffee plantation in Kiambu County, according to reports.

His family has confirmed that he is currently receiving medical treatment at Plainsview Hospital near Ruiru town.

Koimburi was reportedly abducted by unidentified individuals outside a church in Mugutha, Kiambu County, on Sunday.

His wife, Ann Koimburi, sustained injuries during the altercation.

Video footage of the incident shows the MP being driven away in a silver Subaru Forester with civilian license plates.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has denied any involvement in the abduction, although they confirmed that Koimburi has been under investigation since Friday regarding allegations of land fraud and misuse of Constituency Development Funds (CDF).

Mrs. Koimburi expressed her frustration with the situation, highlighting previous instances where authorities seized her husband’s phone and vehicle during investigations without providing clear information about his location.
