NAIROBI, KENYA — US actor Omari Hardwick, renowned for his role as “Ghost” in the “Power” series, has showered Kenyan singer Nyashinski, whose real name is Nyamari Ongegu, with praise following an artistic connection forged during Hardwick’s recent visit to Kenya.
Hardwick took to his official Instagram page to share a series of photos and videos documenting his time spent with the “Malaika” hitmaker. The posts offered glimpses into the evident camaraderie between the two, showcasing friendly banter and a comfortable ease in each other’s company.
Referring to Nyashinski as “Marindugu,” a term seemingly derived from the shared “Mari” in their official names, Hardwick extended heartfelt well wishes to the Kenyan superstar, encouraging him to maintain focus and anticipate significant success. He wrote: “Happy WORTHday Kenyan Killa! My fellow Marindugu. Keep dem eyes to the sky. God has it all awaiting Lil Bro! Rocket ship time!”
One of the videos included in the post features Hardwick recounting Nyashinski’s journey from being a truck driver in the US for a decade to becoming a celebrated singer in his homeland.
In the company of Nyashinski, singer Fena Gitu, and other friends, the acclaimed actor enthusiastically shared: “This is why I can really help, Bro. Where you come in town, make music with these legends. And we put visuals out and we just go. You know… We have these moments where we talk about you coming into the US for ten years, a truck driver. (Someone) kick you out of bed, talking about ‘You’re gonna be a truck driver…’. It’s gonna be OK… Marindugu!”

Sources have also informed Vivid Voice News that the two artists, now affectionately calling each other “Marindugu,” have already collaborated on a musical project slated for imminent release, which will also feature Fenamenal.

This exclusive club, the second global location of the US-based HQ House brand, underscores Kenya’s growing prominence as a hub for international investment and cultural exchange.
Speaking at the HQ Kenya House event, Hardwick emphasized the significance of the space: “HQ Kenya House is a bridge from America to Africa, where like-minded individuals come together to create. The world is watching Africa, and this is our time to create, to collaborate, and to define the future on our own terms.”
