NAIROBI, KENYA — In a heart-wrenching incident in Gigiri, a woman tragically ended the lives of her three children before taking her own life on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred in the Githogoro area near Runda.

According to preliminary investigations, the woman, identified as Monica, used bedsheets to harm her children. She subsequently ended her own life by hanging herself within the family residence.

The grim discovery was made by her husband, who returned home from his overnight shift. Distraught, he alerted neighbors, who immediately contacted the police.

Gigiri Deputy Police Commander, Fredrick Alata, confirmed the incident and stated that a suicide note was recovered from the scene.

Authorities are currently examining the note to determine its authenticity and ascertain the motive behind this tragic event.

The bodies of the mother and her three children have been transported to the Kenyatta Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue, where post-mortem examinations will be conducted.
